The history of Pakistan is not just about 1947—it is a long journey of struggle, sacrifices, and challenges. To understand it clearly, we divide it into two parts: Pre-Partition and Post-Partition.

✦ Pre-Partition Highlights

👉 The War of Independence (1857) was the first major effort of Muslims and Hindus to resist British rule. Although unsuccessful, it awakened political consciousness.

👉 The Urdu-Hindi Controversy (1867) became a turning point. It showed the cultural differences between Muslims and Hindus and strengthened the idea of a separate identity.

👉 With time, Muslims organized themselves under the All India Muslim League (1906) and later presented the Pakistan Resolution (1940). This was the real step toward independence, which finally came in 1947.

✦ Post-Partition Highlights

👉 After independence, Pakistan had to face refugee crises, administrative issues, and political instability.

👉 The Second War with India (1965) tested Pakistan’s strength and unity, leaving a strong mark on national defense history.

👉 The General Elections of 1970 were the first of their kind, but political disputes led to the tragic Separation of East Pakistan (1971), resulting in the birth of Bangladesh.
